Zusammenfassung: | This master dissertation focuses on the art-technological examination of four paintings on wooden panels with carved reliefs on the reverse side, (St. Crucis Church, Großenehrich, Thuringia). A treatment proposal for conserving the paint layers and the reliefs was developed and partially executed. The time of creation of the paintings was estimated for the second half of the 16th to the middle of the 17th century; the reliefs are dated 1499. The art-historical research was related to technological findings and state of preservation, development and conversion phases of the panels were interpreted. An active anobia infestation of the panels by the common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum) was confirmed. |
