Zusammenfassung: | This thesis documents the analysis and description of the design of a unique glass harmonica built by Franz Ferdinand Pohl from Kreibitz (today Chribská). This instrument shows the signature of the builder, signed between 1785 and 1809, which has determined Pohl as the maker. The main goal of the thesis was to issue a concept for the conservation and restoration from the result of the analysis. All materials of the object were included in this concept. The first part of the diploma thesis contains the identification and description of the Glass harmonica. Then there is a short overview about the history of this instrument type which has been described more in-depth in the art history pre-thesis. Also, you will find a historical classification of the Glass harmonica and a historic depiction of the maker. The second part documents the technological restoration analysis and present a concept for the treatment of the instrument. |
