Zusammenfassung: The Meierhof of the Augustinian canons´ monastery in Reichersberg (Upper Austria) was built in the 17th century, remodeled in 1768 and has undergone several renovations and additions following several fires. With its extremely large building area, it bears witness to the wealth of the monastery and is representative of its influence on agriculture in the Innkreis region.
The aim of the diploma thesis was to examine the existing condition of the façade in order to develop a conservation and restoration concept. Both the original substance and multiple reworkings were examined and evaluated. A concept of measures was developed in cooperation with the monument preservation authorities and implemented on a pilot area of the gate building.
The focus was on the development of a consolidation method and the creation of material transitions between the original and secondary building stock. Furthermore, traditional craft techniques were applied. The existing structure from 1768 was to be preserved and the missing parts replaced so that the function and form were restored.
