Zusammenfassung: | This present bachelor´s thesis deals with the cross-arch frieze on the Bad Doberan Minster in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As the only evidence of the previ-ous romanesque building from 1230, the western wall section of the southern aisle is of great importance. The romanesque plaster surfaces of the frieze stood out clearly from the surrounding masonry with their light appearance. Today, large parts of the surfaces appear black. The work includes research, photographic documentation, scientific investigations, as well as on-site tests in order to record the condition of the object and primarily to investigate the topic of secondarily formed gypsum and its reduction. The investigations and results obtained are the basis for a first and sustainable concept for the conservation of the surfaces of the cross-arch frieze, in order to prevent further loss of material. |
