Zusammenfassung: | The bachelor thesis deals with the consolidation and conservation of a Greek folding mirror made of a copper alloy with numerous old restorations in the Collection of Classical Antiquities, National Museums in Berlin. In autumn 2020, a historical addition was discovered in the form of agalvanoplastic reconstruction. This represents an interesting approach to filling in missing sections from the second half of the 20th century. The work examines the restoration history of the object, as well as the restoration ethics as a central element of the further restoration measures: the appropriateness and possible options for the preservation of the galvanoplastic reconstruction as a supplementary element. |
