Zusammenfassung: The present work focuses on the fragments of an early modern age stained glass with an unclear provenance, which are in the possession of the MAK - Museum of Applied Arts Vienna. In the course of in-depth cultural-historical research, questions about the object´s origin and period of creation are examined and contextualized with peculiarities of the production process identified. A precise analysis of the materials, techniques and condition demonstrates that the fragments must be secured using adhesives and that the storage of the object must be improved. Due to earlier restoration efforts, which are relevant to the history of the object, new ways of presentation the object must be devised and practically implementet. To achieve this, an acrylic glass display is produced by means of laser cutting, which fulfills both conservation and aesthetic requirements, offering an exemplary solution for similar future applications.
