Zusammenfassung: Overall, the historical methods of herbaria production have changed but little to this very day. The biggest development was the change from book to single sheet herbaria. In various instructions from different centuries, scientists have tried to standardize and optimize the production of herbaria. Thanks to the possibility of DNA analysis in particular, herbaria have nowadays grown in importance as so-called DNA libraries. At the same time and more than ever, care must be taken to ensure that plant material is not altered by the entry of foreign substances. Therefore, the presentthesis deals with the historical instructions for drying plants and and takes a closer look ontothe effects and influences of the materials used for this, as well as the effects of some common air pollutants on plant dyes. In some experiments drying methods are tried and tested and their influence on the plant pigments is examined. Furthermore, the effects of pollutants on the plant pigments, as mentioned in literature on this specific subject,were also examined in a series of experiments.
