Zusammenfassung: | This paper deals with the problem of detached paint layers, as well as the necessarystabilization, the so-called consolidation.Detached paint layers can be caused by various factors, for example climatic influences or improper handling. These unstable fragments of the paint layer represent a conservation problem in particular, since they can completely lose their adhesion to the layer underneath even with small vibrations. Depressions in the surface can cause an accumulation of dust, dirt and insect eggs. The fragile fragments require careful consolidation, which is carried outwith selected adhesives. The criterias by which a consolidant is selected are described, as well as ethical considerations. The aim of the paper is an overview of the different adhesives that can be used for paint layer consolidation. For this, individual products of natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic binders are described in detail and their characteristics are shown. In addition, positive andnegative features of the three adhesive groups and individual products are compared in tables. The tables in this paper are intended to provide an overview of consolidants for paint layers.Due to constant new knowledge in the field of adhesives, a continuous improvement and adaption of the tables would be desirable. |
