| Zusammenfassung: | The present Bachelor-Thesis deals with a Lakota war bonnet as part of the ethnographic collection of the Übersee-Museum in Bremen. A survey about the extant and condition of the object illustrates the construction, material composition and the cultural background, as well as the state of preservation and causes for its current condition. Furthermore, this paper provides a concept of measures with the focus on the conservation and proper storage of the present object. Additional considerations towards a future display and possible restoration measures are also being presented. A final chapter provides an overview of the treatment carried out so far. |
