Zusammenfassung: | The dairy is one of the first buildings on the Peacock Island and part of the landscape garden which is listet on the UNESO’s World Heritage List. Even after it’s more than 200 years subsistence, there are only few informations about the first paintings design in the inside of the building, which originally was built as a folly and is used als museum today. A detailed research for the entire building served as foundation for the investigation of the first polychrome paintings in the whey parlour. The partly revealed first paint layers were described and classified art historical. Painting technological aspects were complemented by scientific analyses for the identification of used materials. The obtained results lead to a conservation and restoration concept for the whey parlour, which demonstrates different possibilities of preservation and presentation of the historical paintings in between the museum context. |
