Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This bachelor´s thesis investigates the funerary crowns (crafted from paper or textile flowers and ribbons fixed to a wooden frame) and wooden funerary monuments in St. Andreasberg´s Martinikirche (Germany) to establish a foundation for future conservation measures, storage and exhibition. Following an overview of the cultural-historical context, the early 19th-century collection was photographically recorded and meticulously documented. Materials and techniques are analysed, including microscopic examinations. A condition report provides recommendations for conservation measures. A concept to optimise current storage conditions and considerations for the exhibition were developed. The thesis serves as a basis and starting point for further research.
