Abstract: | This master´s thesis deals with the evaluation of the suitability of Beva®371 mastics with regard to conservation and restoration practice. For this purpose, various test series are carried out on test specimens. Since the focus of the evaluation in this thesis is on the influence of the binder-filler ratio, the structuring and retouchability as well as the ageing resistance, a series of tests designed for this purpose is formulated. In this respect, measurements are first carried out by means of a tensile test and an adhesion test, and the structurability is tested using a scalpel and silicone matrix. A cross-cut test is used to assess the retouchability, and the ageing resistance is tested by means of artificial ageing in the form of temperature and humidity fluctuations. The evaluation of the test series provides a critical assessment of the suitability of this material. In a final conclusion, possible further investigation procedures with regard to this topic are presented. |
