Abstract: | The appearance of the medieval wall painitng in the choir of St.-Clemens-St.-Katharinen church in Seedorf is characterized by its uncovering and restoration in 1954. Since then, it presents the Deesis group from the middle of the 13th century and a revision probably from the 14th century side by side. The wall painting today shows five figures: two depictions of Mary and John and a revised depiction of Christ. This bachelor’s thesis examines the wall painting and its state. Subsequently, the author will deal even more closely with the uncovering and restoration of 1954. The measures were carried out by Carl Fey-Talmühlen at the time. He workes since the 1950s in Schleswig-Holstein as a church painter and restorer. His work has not yet been further investigated and researched. |
