| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis dealt with an incunabula of the Dombibliothek Hildesheim where both front and back board were broken, but fitted with an historical repair. With the aim of developing a method for stabilising the back board, various restoration approaches have been taken up in this work and a practical series of tests was carried out to compare them with each other. Furthermore the historical repair should stay visible while the possibility to handle the book would be restored. The results of the series of tests are discussed in terms of their significance and applicability and a separate restoration approach was developed. |
