Abstract: | Agar gel is already used as a cleaning agent in various fields of restoration and could also serve as an alternative to established cleaning agents for the cleaning of wooden objects and furniture. In order to discuss this, various tests will be conducted to assess agar gel as a cleaning agent on porous wood with overlying dirt. Therefore, different application methods such as pouring, brushing, and pre-made gel sheets, as well as various concentrations and temperatures, will be tested. Different dry cleaning agents will be used as comparative samples. In addition to macroscopic and microscopic examinations, the acquired results will be evaluated using color measurement and a water drop test. |
