Overview:

Abstract: The topic of this thesis is a closed association of a cremation grave, excavated in 2007 in Speyer. The fragmented and partially burned or molten grave goods required above all measures for an assignment to each respective object. While assembling and gluing were essential for ceramics, glass and bone, metal analyses were aimed for with the numerous bronze objects. To clarify the structure, state of preservation and manufacturing techniques, some of the metal objects were X-rayed. Two iron nails were partially desalinised. Regarding the perceptibility of the objects and the closed find context, an exhibition concept was created which includes instructions for the restoration of ceramic- and glass-dummies.
