Abstract: The stained glass windows of the Protestant church at Dorndorf (Rhön) were made in 1912 in the stained glass studio of Wilhelm Franke (Naumburg). After their removal in 1970, they were stored inadequately and subsequently severely damaged. In 2009 they were transferred to the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt for conservation treatment in several project phases. Within the present Master-Thesis, an extended concept for conservation and restoration measures will be developed, building on the work processes already carried out, using the panel of the ´´Baptism of Christ´´ for an example. Special attention will be given to the treatment of missing parts of thematically important image-areas. The missing areas are differentiated into ´known´ and ´unknown´ and treated with various loss-compensation methods. Unknown areas are structured with pixels to alienate the representation. The previous results of this method will be summarised and further developed.
