Overview:

Abstract: This thesis deals with a small chest from the Angermuseum in Erfurt. Taking into account the variety of the used materials (wood, paper, brass and iron material), the preservation and restoration of the exhibit are analysed, and a concept is drawn up from these analyses. Thus, approaches, technologies and approaches to feasibility are discussed. In the course of the investigations carried out on the history and the available materials of the exhibit, comparative exhibits were also searched, explained and examined under comparable criteria and presented in tabular form. The work on the exhibit was carried out in the in-house workshops of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. The conservation problems of a combination of materials as regarding the object under consideration, especially affecting air conditioning, are also discussed. Finally, the possibilities of a presentation in a museum are presented.
