| Abstract: | The present BA-Thesis deals with a Chinese 'Tray / Fruit Basket', which is part of the Asian collection of the Museum für Thüringer Volkskunde in Erfurt. Apart from reflections on the classification of the object based on its original use as well as its constructive and decorative elements, the paper deliberates the development of the catalogue of damages and the technical composition of the varnish. The formulation of the aim of the restauration is followed by suggestions on cleaning methods for the object. |
