Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This Thesis researches information to develop a guide to give private collectors of twentieth century graphics an overview on basic preservation methods and their implementation in a private home.
First, attention is given to conservational problems by addressing material-specific features of watercolours, prints, drawings and the papers of this period, as well as the damaging effects of light and improper climate conditioning. Having gained a better understanding of the dangers and problems, guidelines and preservation measures, as well as their application in a private living space are presented, both for the long-term storage and the exhibition of the collection.
