| Abstract: | The subject of this dissertation is a large-scale of the medieval castle Wysburg in Southeast Thuringia and a rampart-ditch trench at the castle wich has been carried out by the author in 2000. The study includes new plans of the fortress completing the corpus of available survey-records of this site. Further, new ways of graphic presentations were elaborated depicting the relationship between the castle and ist neighbourhood. The rampart-ditch trench not only clarified important aspects of the fortification structure but also produced interesting results in the use of the documentation system “Trigomat” in a difficult topographic terrian. The last part of the dissertation discusses aspects of the castle´s future toristic developments. |
