Abstract: This master thesis is directed to professionals as well as non-professionals who are confronted with mould during their work with cultural heritage. It covers the basics of mould formation in libraries and focuses on its identification and the handling especially regarding health and safety measures. Based on the knowledge gained in this work training materials are provided for the sensitization of employees. Furthermore, guidelines are developed for the identification of mould and the handling of mould affected objects with special focus on the packing of the respective items and protective measures. Additionally, two general action processes are presented for the everyday handling of mould.
