Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: A historic tomb, made of Alabaster, had to be removed caused by corrosion damage in order to replace the iron elements. The object of alabaster stone was built with mortar from natural gypsum. On samples of historic plaster laboratory tests for material identification were performed. Using these results, the gypsum should be adjusted. These results followed investigations on three gypsum products, which largely do not include surcharges and additives. The comparison with the historic original gypsum in the evaluation justifies which gypsum may come in question as a new mortar and shows ways to optimize it for use by modifications.
