| Zusammenfassung: | The present thesis deals with the topic of linseed-oil based coatings on artworks made from limestone that are fully exposed to weathering. Initially, it gives an overview over basics, possible modifications of historic linseed-oil coatings and the process of degradation. It further explains the physical parameters of the particular limestone. The main emphasis lies on the possibilities of protection and potential damage, generated by such a coating. Finally it puts together some open questions leading to further research on this topic. |
