| Zusammenfassung: | This master thesis records the technological examinations of the guild-chest of the “Dresdener Kammacherzunft” from the town museum in Dresden. The different revision phases of the guild-chest are discussed through several examination methods. The methodical considerations for dealing with the current condition are worked out based on investigations of the polychrome painting and an analysis of the damage causes. The various options for the conservation and restoration of the guild-chest are introduced in a discussion. As a result of the methodical considerations and after consulting the authorities of the museum, the conservation of the guild chest with the unique rococo-style ornament takes place. The guild-chest shall be handed-over to future generations as an historical reference with its marks of usage. The preventative measures and thoughts about the presentation are important for this task. |
