| Zusammenfassung: | Chandeliers are a largely unexplored region in museums studies, conservation research and art history. This MA Thesis concentrates on a glassarm chandelier that most likely stems from the 19th C. The exact provenience is unknown and should, at best, become clarified through this thesis. The chandelier has typical Venetian and Bohemian characteristics. It was also produced during a time in history when differentiated knowledge was more wide spread. Making it more difficult to locate its origin. Practically, the work focuses on the conservation and reconstruction of the object with the existing fragments. In addition to cleaning, the damaged pieces are to be repaired and loss filled. A photografic documentation shows the different steps in chronological order. The missing lower section of the chandelier has been redesigned and can be executed in at a later point in time. |
