The content of the thesis was the preparation of a concept for the conservation and restoration of the wall painting in the apse of the St. Thomas church in Pretzien near Magdeburg. The focus was the development of a method for the reduction of a laminar layer of a synthetic resin, of individually brittle rests of a natural resin as well as of different kind of blanching. Furthermore a consolidation of the plaster occurred. The theoretical section deals with the investigation of the technique of the Romanesque painting in the apse.
