Zusammenfassung: Within the scope of this master thesis three cabinet furniture from the stock of the Museum of Braunschweig, which until now have not yet been identified as belonging together, have been classified as a Zurich buffet with a washing device. This piece of furniture has then been analysed with respect to art historical and technological aspects regarding the three main components – the lavabo, the serving cabinet and the upper cupboard – and the whole piece of furniture. New findings regarding its development and its stylistic characteristics as well as its structural aspects and its state of preservation were revealed within a technical analysis. As a consequence, detailed provisions for its preservation have been stated. These provisions have as well been implemented exemplarily for the lavabo. In addition, actions for the restoration of the piece of furniture as a whole are provided for. The master thesis concludes with a concept for its storage and presentation.
