| Zusammenfassung: | The archive for historic building parts as a department of the Bavarian State Conservation Office contains two cell doors from the former monastery of Kaisheim, which is used as a prison since secularization in the beginning of the 19th century. In this thesis, the construction of the doors is described. Similarities and differences between doors to monastery cells and prison cells are described and the possibility of a conversion is discussed. Due to inadequate storage, the doors are quite weathered and damaged by wood destructing fungi. This changes their appearance considerably. The paper contains a concept for the conservation of the doors and gives some advice on necessary information for presenting the doors to the public. |
