Zusammenfassung: This work focuses on the southern rock-front of the Hubertus Chapel in Sehlde near Bockenem. The agents of deterioration on the stone substance of the chapel are examined.
First a compilation of the respective phenomena of damage were made in catalogue form and by mapping.
Then an examination of the moisture content and the distribution of salts in the object took place.
The research results reveal that the main reason for the damage of the stone is high moisture content and crusts of gypsum that compact the surface.
Finally recommendations for the reduction of the agents of deterioration and future treatments are made.
