Overview:

Abstract: North of the Dom St. Peter und Paul at Brandenburg/Havel (Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul) the enclosure is located in three wings. The upper cloister is on the first floor of the north wing and was added in the 15th century. This cloister is fully painted. The painting was uncovered in 2002 and is now in a very fragmentary state. Retouching and reconstructions in the original painting were dispensed with. The decoration system of the upper cloister is now being reconstructed using digital aids. This work contributes to this reconstruction. The work is limited to the non-figurative decoration system of the window yokes on the south wall. A concept was developed for how the decoration system can be presented coherently as a hypothesis without falsifying the visual perception of the information in the yokes with large-scale digital reconstructions. For this purpose, an additional yoke was created, which collects the information that is best to be reconstructed from the yokes and displays it as a whole.
