Abstract: This diploma thesis deals with eight unstretched canvas paintings by the Berlin artist Hans Stübner (1900-1973).
The paintings were examined concerning the painting technique and the condition. Five of the paintings are originally unstretched, two were traditionally stretched and the last painting is glued on a board.
The paper focuses on developing a mounting method to display the unstretched paintings.
