Overview:

Abstract: This thesis describes methods for the desalination in situ of several varieties of the Nürnberger Burgsandstein in the presence of either desiccating poultries or applied low pressure. In this work it was proven that application of either method results in an effective desalination in the surface-near areas of the investigated stones. Furthermore it could be shown, that the amount of excerpted salt from the investigated stone variants was increased significantly by applied low pressure when compared to the poultrice method. In addition to the discussion of the theoretical background, experimental setups are being discussed. This allows conclusions about the possible applications of desalination with applied low pressure. Based upon the experiences gained during this study, advantages and disadvantages of the application of both methods mentioned here are being thoroughly discussed
