Martin Engel: Scenographic models in a new contect Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Abstract: This dissertation is about the conservation and restoration of a scenographic model of a rocket which was manufactured for the science fiction movie „Im Staub der Sterne“ in 1976 by order of the DEFA. Some parts of the rocket were motorially moved for trick sequences. In addition to this, pyrotechnical effects were used what have left behind some residues on the object.
Beside a detailed description of all parts including their changes in time, a concept for the restoration was developed which considers the maintenance of the original signs and the restoration of all functions.
Reaction resins based upon methacrylates were analysed and used for the repair of broken soldered joints.

Keywords: scenographic model, kinetic function, soot consolidation, reaction resins based upon methacrylates, broken soldered joints
