Overview:

Abstract: Carried out experiments were on plaster and injection materials for engobed terracotta. Before starting to carry out those experiments the right binders, extra materials and the granulation of the two of them bad to be found. Based on that experiments with model-samples and usual in the trade res. standard modified plaster and injection materials based on silicic acid ester could carried on. There for the making of ceramic modelcompounds has been necessary as with and without engobe or glaze. Composition and physical specific values of those modelcompounds had to be oriented on medievally terracotta medaillons coming from Lüneburg. To ascertained were physical and porespace oriented specific values like Young´s modulus, adhesion and flexural strength, airpermeability, thermic and hygric dilatation, absorption of watersdegree and waterscoefficient. As well microscopical meditations had to be done on analyses taken from the terracotta medaillons and the model-samples test pieces and of course the plaster and injection materials.
