Overview:

Abstract: A secretaire a deux corps is object of a complete concept of restoration and preservation. After historical and technological researches, the secretaire dates from 1730/40. Evaluating the researches its assumed origin is the area around Braunschweig. In pratical work the measures of restoration, resulting from the scientific analysis were carried out at the writing desk. Missing parts of the desk could be reconstructed by wooden stick supplementation. This method proved to be very useful in order to reconstruct stable and solid supplements though it is quite time intensive.
