Overview:

Abstract: A carved wooden wall covering made of oak around about 1720 will be examined in this paper. It is now in the Grassimuseum and was according to the research originally built in the Boeselager Hof in Bonn. The history of the court as well as the interior décor will be shortly presented so that the panelling can by put in its spatial connection. The high quality and also the well thought- out lay out of the panelling will be clear owing to the technological investigations and iconographical depictions. A draft will be worked out for the conservation after a detailed examination of the preservation conditions. Several exhibitions concepts will be presented for the presentation of the panelling parts and the works done till now documented.
