Overview:

Abstract: This thesis aims at a conservational documentation of the “Ofenschale”. The ceramic vase crowns masonry heaters. The object of this study was unearthed in Hannover, in 2015. It is dated to approximately 1800, based on stylistic criteria. The vase and its parts were made in molds. The foot is glazed. The object is, perplexingly, covered in at least 14 layers of lime paint, obscuring the detailed clay profile.
