Overview:

Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the consolidation
and restoration possibilities of a bone-lead game
figure from Parchim, Mecklenburg-Western
Pomerania. In 2016, this play figure was
recovered during an excavation in Parchim on
the Elbe. The anaerobic conditions during the soil
storage had a very favourable influence on the
organic (bones) and inorganic (lead) components,
which is why the object could be preserved in a
very good condition. The focus of the bachelor
thesis is a concept development of the
conservational and restorative measures of this
play figure. In order to decide on suitable
measures for the treatment, the state of
preservation was analysed primarily through
various scientific investigations. Not only the
surface but also the inner structure was
examined instrumentally. According to the
results of the investigations, a concept could be
presented in which the objectives of the object's
consolidation and restoration measures are
formulated.
