Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The subject of this thesis is a fragmentary and repeatedly revised canvas painting of Father God with a historic addition on a separate canvas. The appearance is influenced by a wax-resin lining and extensive overpainting. The thesis addresses the examination of the painting’s structure and the following revisions, a concept for conservation based on the results and the execution of the treatments with the goal being to recombine original and addition through a relining. This includes tests of methylcellulose adhesive meshes for lining.
