Overview:

Abstract: The two plaster cut works Ruhe and Bewegung were applied in the winter of 1960/61 by
Hermann and Frieda Glöckner in the Kurmittelhaus of the former clinic sanatorium in Bad
Gottleuba. There they adorn two walls of the anteroom to the gymnastics hall. The most
magnificent building of the listed clinic area has been out of use since 1997. Increasing
structural defects have led to considerable damage, especially on the mural Ruhe. Within the
scope of this diploma thesis, both pictures were examined, which was supplemented by
various analyses and research. For the mural Ruhe a conservation concept was developed,
which was implemented in the diploma. In addition, theoretical considerations and practical
preliminary tests were used to conceptually work out the question of how to fill in the missing
parts of the damaged plaster cut.
