Abstract: The oil on canvas painting showing a copy of the Holy family Medici by Andrea del Sarto is
property of the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum and aesthetically affected in its optical
apearance by prior inventions. The artist, the date and also place of origin are unknown.
Scientific analyses will further specify the date of origin and clarify a connection to Andrea del
Sarto. Furthermore, the already performed analyses will provide the basis for the developed
conservation concept. The practical work focuses on the recovery of a pleasing appearance,
keeping in mind the condition that has evolved.
