Abstract: The arm reliefs from the sanctuary of Athena of Pergamon should be restored in the
connection of a new exhibition concept. The slabs are exhibited in different rooms at the
moment and they show various concepts of restoration. In the future they should be exhibited
together for a presentation. It needs a concept for the missing area treatment.
This thesis discusses the different abilities of fillings for the arm reliefs with the aid in a
variant discussion. The realization of the chosen variant should be transferable to all
balustrade slabs and it is performed on one slab. Furthermore there will be explained the set
of difficulties during the missing area treatment over the span of the history and the
resulting principles of restoration.
