| Abstract: | Function of the diploma was to develop a concept for conservation and restoration of the wallpaintings in the tower area of the parish church of Werningsleben. Considering the alarming condition of the tower, the main stress was put on a large conservation of the wallpaintings and its supporting materials without reconstructing. At the north wall, where the representation of the Holy Christophorus is located, conservation and restoration have already finished. Suggestions for further handling of the tower area are given. Taking the available diploma into consideration the remaining wall paintings have to be conserved in preparation of the planned tower reorganisation. |
