Overview:

Abstract: The mural paintings marks one of the few but still existing testimonials of the last period of European gothic in Upper Bavaria. The “secco”-painting provides a significant insight into painting-concepts by artists in the last days of the Middle Ages.
In particular, one can notice a systematic destruction of the wall’s surface by salt contamination. In the course of diploma and through a detailed examination this paper aims to illustrate ways to improve good conditions of the mural painting. Therefore several conservational processes are brought together in order to prevent new water ingress and creating good climatic conditions.
