Abstract: This bachelorthesis deals with practical restoration and possibilities of conservation of the pattern book L48 from Rotes Haus Monschau.
The first step was to evaluate the actual state of the pattern-book and to investigate needs of restoration, wherefore - under observance of the interaction of different materials such as wool, paper and ink - a concept was developed. Cleaning and restoring the cover had the main attention. But it was also focused on repairing the binding and fixing woolen patterns to reconstruct the books usa- bility. Treatment of ink-caused damages was only conducted locally.
In the end, the author gives advice for conservation and presentation the pattern-book.
