Jessica Schwarze: Cataloguing and registration of sandstone objects from the depot of Schloss Neschwitz Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:
Abstract: Cataloguing is a very important tool in conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, especially regarding depots of museums and other collections. It allows the registration of objects and their condition to ensure that conservation can be carried out in time before the objects are irreversibly damaged.
Apart from presenting various options of cataloguing a customized concept for the sandstone objects of Schloss Neschwitz will be developed. The objects that were hitherto uncared for stored in the depot will be documented standardized and comprehensively, taking into account that the collection may grow in the future and therefore leaving the option of adding more and varying types of objects to the catalogue. This is furthermore a preparation for following conversation measures. Additionally the use of historical buildings as depot will be taken into focus by analysing the state and therefore suitability of the currently used depot premises
