Rosa Gottwald: The application of TEOS as a consolidant in stone conservation - An investigation on Obernkircher Sandstone about the influence of different material and ambient humidities on the strengthening success Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: Through a series of studies the influence of the humidity conditions on the strength of treated sandstone samples will be investigated. Besides the presentation of the theoretical foundations and the state of research on this subject, the results of an investigation carried out on this issue will be presented.

The studies were performed on Obernkirchner sandstone. The conditioning at different relative humidities took place in climate chambers with uniform, constant temperature conditions. For impregnating the product KSE 300 was used. The strength and the Young’s modulus were determined by measurements of the biaxial flexural strength.
