Christina-Katharina Nitschke: Three hologramms from the centre for art and media Karlsruhe: Analysis and experiments on the vanishing of the image Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The aim of this thesis is the examination of the vanishing of the image on holograms and the testing of several techniques to fight this phenomenon. The objects are three reflection hologramms on basis of a dichromate gelatin coming from the centre for art and media in Karlsruhe/ Germany. Two of the three objects will be treated invasively for test series and experiments. One object is foreseen to (later) restoring treatment.

Special attention is focused on the understanding of the vanishing of the image: Why does it appear and how does it originate? How do interference phenomena work? Furthermore several analysis and test series are to follow, to find a method, how to resolve this phenomenon. For this different experiments will be carried out on the two test objects.
