Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The temple chariot is an ethnological object of large scale. It was built in India in the outgoing 19th century. The thesis draws the art-historical classification and the specific history of the object from researches in India and at archives and libraries. Scientific and technologic analyses were carried out. A description of the chariot’s materials, its construction and the building techniques is provided.
A detailed survey and the documentation of the condition are recorded in text, tables and mappings. Important questions of religious ethics are discussed and options of the objects conservation, restoration and erection are developed. Three concepts of different grades give recommendations accordingly.
